Making the final preparations for my move to New Mexico in a month. Am posting an overview map of the route I will be driving so friends can keep track of the progress. I added in numbers and a legend in the lower left corner that lists the cities I'll be using as landmarks where major route changes take place.




And here's the pdf file I got from the AAA trip planners. It's a 3 mg file with 29 pages of very detailed directions and local street maps all along the way.

If all goes according to plan, I'll be heading out no later than March 1st. Plan to arrive in NM by March 4th at the very latest, hopefully by the 3rd.

Editing this to add an alternative route via Hwy 40. It is 330 miles shorter. Will make a final decision of which route as the day gets closer and weather and road conditions known. With these files on my blog, I'll have access to them via the internet in case I lose the printouts.
